Play Around Natura Morta
The gallery hosts one of the most relevant contemporary jewelry artists in the field. Christopher Thompson-Royds focuses his work on the ephemeral beauty of nature. Raised in the countryside of Oxfordshire, since he was a child, he spends his days gathering wildflowers and building
His works are part of the memories of the past and the artist uses the jewel as a means of preserving an instant. Thin sheets of gold are transformed into timeless floral compositions; hand-painted necklaces and earrings are placed inside marble paper boxes, which recall the herbarium of Hans Sloan, kept at the Natural History Museum in London.
During the event, the gallery owner and the artist will be pleased to introduce you briefly to the world of contemporary jewelry. By showing prototypes along with drawings and sketches by Christopher Thompson-Royds, there will be a way to learn more about his research and artistic career.
