Irene Belfi gallery, is a new venture for contemporary jewellery making its debut with a group show in Porta Venezia and featuring seven international Jewellery artists.
Kiko Gianocca plays with human perception and, making apparently simple beautiful objects , he focuses on the wearer reaction and how our instinct always search for patterns and familiar aspects in shapes.
Using ancient pieces of Japanese wood, Lapislazuli, wires and metals Julia Walter creates wearable cult objects and contemporary amulets. She believes in the energy a piece of jewellery can carry and that this energy is then transmitted onto the wearer.
Tatjana Giorgadse with her own aesthetic, is also transforming her vision of the world into quite eccentric and vibrant pieces.
Using traditional materials like gold and silver Akiko Kurihara use humor and wit as inspiration for her minimalistic pieces.
Benedikt Fischer explores the use of traditional techniques applied to indu- strial and colorful plastic materials and shells transformed into brooches as a medium to narrate surrealistic stories.
Christopher Thompson Royds and Sunyoung Kim are both fascinated by nature; Thompson Royds wants to preserve an instant in the life of a plant and by painting very thin gold and silver sheets he creates breathtaking, realistic, wearable Natura Morta.
Sunyoung Kim instead brings together very poetic pieces that capture the most fragile moments in a plant life, the blooming and the falling.
